Maravu Taveuni Lodge

Maravu Lodge was exactly what we were hoping for! The staff were the standout of our experience; they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and relaxed. They were happy to organise trips for us or give us advice when we wanted to do things ourselves independently. They were also happy to just have a chat and a laugh. I would say they went above and beyond what I expected, I can't praise them enough. We ate breakfast and dinner in Maravu most days and were very happy with the food in terms of quality, price, variety, and portion size. The grounds were beautiful with well-maintained gardens. We had a private bure which was spacious, comfortable, and clean.

This is THE place to stay at if you go to Taveuni. It's really well located, close to dive centers / rainbow reef and it's easy to take the bus to go to Bouma to do the Lavena and Tavoro waterfall hikes. The rooms are surrounded by beautiful nature, the pool is great and the food very tasty. If you're traveling solo, you might meet other like minded people as it's the only place with a dorm. The best thing about the lodge is the staff, who will make you feel welcomed and looked after during your whole stay and who will share more about their culture if you take the time to chat to them. Be sure to try kava and listen to the beautiful music Kali plays every evening. Also they run a morning boat ride to try and see dolphins (couldn't see them when I went but you get to snorkel too) . Very nice setting, big and airy rooms (bures), a good restaurant and very nice and friendly staff. Maravu has a very relaxing athmosphere, there is absolutely no stress around. And not overpriced as so many other places on Taveuni. Sometimes it looks a bit unorganized but that's just the fijian way, in the end everything works out.

The staff were amazing. Tours, recommendations and day to day conversations.. all were so welcoming and friendly. They also helped us move rooms when we had accessibility issues with our first room.

The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming and happy to assist with any inquiries or concerns. They helped in organising day tours and excursions. The grounds were so lovely and very well kept. The pool was a welcoming surprise, and there are plenty of sun lounges and shade options. The restaurant, which as I understand is operated by people in a nearby village, was outstanding. The food was excellent and very well priced. The real stars of the show for me were Rafa and Kali. Rafa with his cheery & playful attitude, and Kali with his gentle kindness. I was sad to leave and endeavour to return in the near future!!
